Michael Brown (Project Development Manager, City of Sydney) presents “Sydney CBD South – Exploring SS-2030 ideas for southern Sydney CBD including new convention entertainment and exhibition facilities”.
Michael currently works at the City of Sydney Council in the Urban Renewal Unit, which is responsible for exploring and promoting Council’s urban renewal ideas. The unit was established after completion of Sustainable SYdney 2030, Council’s vision for inner Sydney over the next 20 years. Prior to his current role, Michael worked in another small Council team along with external consultants on the development of Sustainable Sydney 2030.
Micheal also worked at the NSW Department of Planning in a senior development assessment role on State significant development within and around Sydney including Darling Harbour, Sydney Olympic Park, Rhodes and further afield in Newcastle, the Snowy ski resorts and coastal areas. He has also worked at the City of Sydney and City of Adelaide Councils providing urban design and heritage advice.
Michael holds a masters degree in Architectural History from the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, an honours degree in Architecture and a degree in Science, both from the University of Adelaide.
